Elephants tend to group together in herds, generally a herd will be made up of around 10 adult females with their young, males only hang around until they reach maturity, thereafter they group together in small bachelor herds or they travel alone.

Currently elephants are easily seen on any African Safari, how long this will last no-one knows for sure, certainly so called eco-tourists are helping as we pump much needed money into the economies of the most important elephant countries.

My own view is that a safari holiday is something very special, getting to see all those animals that we know so well from the tv, in real life, in a beautiful African environment, is simply mind blowing - for real!
