Elephant Photography - Photographing an Elephant

I'm sure you are hoping to get some great Elephant Photos while on your safari holiday.

Naturally I wouldn't presume to give out any photography tips to you guys, technically I'm sure you're better than me ... I'm a kind of; buy a decent digital camera, point it, and click it, kind of man!

I'm living proof that if you get out there on safari and aim your camera, then you can get a half decent photo ... in which case if you have any talent, then you should get some real beauties!

Like in all things, it's all about opportunity ... and you will get plenty of that on your Safari. If you are on a bus or 4x4 you will of course be able to get pictures from the vehicle, both stationary and on the move.

More importantly Elephants when teated with respect are not dangerous and thus you should be able to get pictures while on foot, both from the edge of an accomodation compound (slight luck required) or during a set down during the day.

Elephants are not the fastest movers and tend not to be overly nervous with humans around, so ample time is available to get some good photos in.
